Thank you. I do have a problem actually. I tried a bunch of weird stuff with Audacity and can't get a "distant" effect like the beginning in "From Y to Y" (I don't know what to call it).

From what I can tell from the beginning of Y to Y you want to sound slightly like you're talking through a phone reciever.
What you wanna do is go to the Effects and click "High pass Filter" then once the filter is done go to effects and click "Low Pass filter" then once it's done re-do the high pass filter then redo the low pass filter over. the repeat (high then low then high ect)
you usually only need to do the cycle 2 or 3 times (High then low then high then low or High then low then high then low then high then low)
don't worry about the audio getting too soft you can always amplify it.
I'm sorry if that was confusing here's a step chart~
Step 1: Click effects
Step 2: Click High pass filter
Step 3: click Low pass filter
Step 4: Repeat steps 2 and 3 till desired results.
hope this helps

Lol. You could have also put a compression or reverb on it to get the same effects. =]
I've been taking audio technology for a couple years, so if you have any other problems, feel free yo ask. There is also a recording help section on the forums you can post your problems in and we can get to you as soon as possible. =]

My God....I wish there are classes in our school that are WORTH taking...(career wise...) Band is a blow off class, but funny teachers so that's why I take it...the only one probably worth taking...well AP classes too.
Thank you for the help. Right now...I just need a mic that can handle screaming for Love is War and Hope....

A quality mic for screaming would have to be a dynamic microphone.
I personally recommend the OM5 (it's my favorite).
It's a really good dynamic microphone that can stand screaming, but you'll still have to eq the recording just a tiny bit to help. =]
But any other dynamic microphone is good for that.
DO NOT GET A CONDENSER MIC. They're not good for this type of thing.
They're too sensitive. >.<

Condenser is good for the opposite genre of music. I can't choose between the Canon EOS 5D Mark II and a mic.....T-T -turns to mom- "Hey mommy? For my birth-" "No." ....(That just happened right now...) Geez. How did she know what I want....

>3< True, dynamics are expensive.
I guess for now, get a standard desktop mic or a logitech headset mic. They're pretty okay.
